Ashcroft complains about Constitution

<Supreme Court strikes down "virtual" child porn law

NO ONE likes child porn. Everyone likes freedom of speech. The law was bad, would have banned "Romeo and Juliet", among others.

But John Ashcroft is complaining that the Constitution gets in the way of what he wants to do. (This time - he has some workarounds for other issues.)

He's not bitching about the way the law was written, he wasn't interested in finding a legal way to do this. He's unhappy that the concept of free speech and the Constitution is in his way.

Why can't he find a constitutional way to do this, as child porn is not OK, instead of complaining about the US Constitution he has pledged to uphold.

Bodes ill for the American people.
