In 1958 my mother subscribed to the 'All About' book club. I now know it was a strain on the family finances. Bless her!
I remember a few of the books, All About, Dinosours, Space Travel, The Solar System.
One of the bonus items was a copy of Kon Tiki. I was entralled, reread it numerous times. Slowly it dawned on me, this was far more than a mere adventure book.

It was a trip into the human races' past.

From that small realization, among others came the intense need to learn as much as I could about us, and the universe around us.

Thor, whatever sea you sail now, good journey. Safe winds, and may you discover the truth, the one thing you always sought above all else.
