Re: The search for Atlantis . . .

Saw a Nova episode a few months back that suggested... No, that strongly suggested the location of lost Atlantis to be located near the shores of South America’s Lake Titicaca.

* The Bolivian Atlantis
* Briton Finds Atlantis In Bolivia
* Lost Atlantis found in Bolivia
* 'Atlantis: The Andes Solution'; a book review.

The Greek sage also said the walls of the fabled city were plated in gold, silver, bronze, tin and ``orichalcum,'' a natural alloy of gold and copper found only in the Andes.'' Defenders of Allen's theory note all those metals are found close to Lake Poopo near La Paz.

The Kon-Tiki was mentioned in the Nova episode as evidence of the sailing ability of the ancient Bolivians, though Jim Allen, the main supporter of the Bolivian Atlantis theory and writer of “Atlantis: The Andes Solution,” was sorry for the short sightedness Thor Heyerdahl, as well as the rest of the scientific world, held toward the sophistication of ancient watercraft. No metal of any kind was used in the construction of the Kon-Tiki, but examples of stainless steel could be found holding stones in place in the ancient walls found on the altiplano of Bolivia -- forged more than 1500 years ago.

Interesting and exciting,
Dan
