Re: The World, according to Plato . . .

The World, according to Plato was different.

The alloy mentioned by Plato in his incomplete (many pages lost over the eons) Critias is a natural occurrence comprised of gold and copper. It is called a mineral more precious that any other, save pure gold. In this world, this occurs naturally only in the Andes Mountains.

The existence of orichalcum in the form Plato described is not the only divining point to the argument of the Bolivian Atlantis theory. There is also the matter of walls that are being found, surrounding the city in concentric circles, measured to be of identical size and distance as Plato describes. Also, the colored stones of the walls match Plato's writings. The described monuments are there. The pyramids are there, and much more. This city is still being excavated to this day, with much of it buried beneath tons of silt, thought to be debris from the Great Flood.

Take it for what it's worth, but when it comes to what things were called at the time of Plato -- Plato was there. It may turn out not be the fabled city, but it is still very exciting.

Cheers,
Dan
