Democratic moral code: power above all else. Another in an endless series.

<Newsmax describes the Democrats scrabbling for soft money before it becomes illegal by virtue of the laws that they themselves shoved through the Congress.

An aide to Kerry defended his acceptance of the kind of contributions he voted to ban.

"Senator Kerry believes strongly that there is simply too much at stake in this November's elections for Democrats to tie one hand behind our back in fighting for our causes and our constituencies,'' Kelley Benander, his spokeswoman told the Globe, adding that after the law takes effect on November 6, ''he will happily comply with both the spirit and the letter'' of its provisions.

"There is simply too much at stake" to do the right thing. Understand that the Democrats apply this rule to EVERY action they take. This is only the latest, most blatant example. Anyone who believes that Kerry is not going to drill six new loopholes through the new law on November 6, or just sneak around the law, is welcome to buy a bridge I have for sale.

The fact that these people don't even understand why this might be considered somewhat hypocritical says more for how they think than just about anything else.

The Democratic Loophole Heirarchy:

- It's okay if it's wrong, but it isn't illegal.

- It's okay if it's illegal, but you don't get caught.

- It's okay if you get caught, but they believe you when you lie about it or blame someone else.

- It's okay if they don't buy the lie, but forget the whole thing six months later.
