Re: Can't stand the heat? Get out of the Middle East. Now.

<You wish it hadn't happened. I sure wish it hadn’t happened. No excuse. Pretty clear Hamas isn't under control of the leadership.

And just how does the Hamas showing it is not under Palestinian control proving the Hamas is not under Palestinian control?

And, three weeks since the last attack, three weeks with the Israeli tanks still romping through the occupied territories. Three weeks with no suicide bombings, and three more weeks of settlement building.

Three weeks of GWB, Powell, Cheney, and Rice telling Arafat to stop the violence. Yes, telling the Palestinians to stop the violence, while Israel is romping around the occupied territories with tanks, APCs, helicopters, etc.

The Palestinians had refrained from bombings, the Israelis hadn't moderated their attacks. Sharon had finished and pulled out of some places, gone into others.

Refrained? I think that’s called regrouping. There is no want for peace in the area by either leader, but of course it’s all Israel’s fault. Everyone knows that the control Palestine, and the Hamas. They probably called the bomb in on themselves just so they could go on with the butchery.

Another point. Wouldn't the Israelis want to deal with someone who has credibility with the Palestinians?

Not if he commands the Hamas to strike while the WORLD strives to align a peace settlement. Arafat is a known terrorist. Negotiate with that for a while.

Does Sharon think he can replace Arafat with a puppet, and get peace?

Anyone is better than Arafat.

Doesn't he realize that the hatred he has fostered among the Palestinians will result in whatever leadership they will have reflecting that hatred? Imagine a WTC in each state. Would you be real, real interested in "peace" with the people who did that?

Yes. And a very permanent sort.

Or, if they don't, that leadership won't have credibility with the Palestinians.

the kid gloves have been off for a while, B. Palestine is going down, and there ain’t a nation in the Middle East that will toe the line to stop it.
