Re: Free fire zone

<...You're saying all Palestinians think the same way, do the same things, slavishly follow their leaders exactly the way conservatives follow GWB?

What if a Palestinian doesn't like suicide bombings? What if some of them are like some Americans, regarding GWB as something less than our nations finest? Or do they all think alike, and it's right, just, and fair to dynamite any house and the neighbors they'd like?

If there are Palestinians who hold these positions--and there must be--it would be nice to hear something from them. Anything. Even anonymously.

I am not of the opinion that bulldozing a terrorist's house is the most effective way to influence that terrorist. I doubt he is any more sentimental about his apartment and neighbors than he is about human life. The practice began when one too many Israelis got blown to kingdom come by booby traps in more traditional house searches. When it became a form of retaliation, I don't know.

I suppose it's possible that a few of the 70 (!) relatives and family members of Abdel-Basset Odeh living in those six apartments had absolutely no idea that they were related to a Hamas leader, or maybe they knew about it and disapproved. If so, I'm sorry they got their homes wrecked.

If not, well, "never stand next to someone who throws shit at an armed man."

Meanwhile, I'm waiting to see what happens in Gaza.
