And this isn't political??

From the Washington Post:

"An Image of Invincibility is Shaken By Disclosures" Cripes.

This is being organized on a wide scale by Democrats and the press. "What did he know and when did he know it" is popping out of the mouth of every leftist parrot in their arsenal. Classified information was leaked to the press by Democrats in authority, with their usual disregard of the law when their power is at stake.

Anguished relatives of attack victims are being told--to their faces--that if Bush had done something different, their loved ones would still be alive. The lawyers are already circling like sharks.

The glee of the leftist press at being unleashed--finally--to annihilate the Republican president is evident. For months they have had to suppress their seething loathing of a president that they still see as having stolen the office.

Psycho conspiracy theorists, some on the looney right wing, have been claiming that Bush knew that there was going to be an attack, knew it would happen on Sept. 11, knew the specific targets ahead of time, and knew that thousands would die. The motivation for such a crime is unclear, ranging from political advantage to oil interests. (The pathetic individuals that tout such things seem to derive some form of strange comfort from the idea that our world is ruled by a cabal of omniscient and omnipotent monsters. I have no understanding of this at all.)

Although none of the Democrats have made such lunatic claims, they are not too far short of it, and are definitely quietly encouraging their audience to jump to just such a conclusion, at least subconciously.

Totally forgotten in this feeding frenzy are the several terrorism "warnings" that have been released by the government since Sept. 11, including a specific one from the governor of California about the Golden Gate Bridge. Totally forgotten is the fact that few people have paid any attention at all to these warnings. For sure, given the traffic, I noticed that hardly anyone stopped crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Totally forgotten is the abuse heaped on government authorities when the warnings didn't pan out, or were too vague. "The boy who cried wolf" was the biggest refrain. Forgotten are the jokes about color coded alert levels and other attempts to try and create some sort of workable way to inform the public. And this is all AFTER September 11.

Does anyone think that issuing a vague warning about hijackings to the general public in August or early September would have materially changed anything?

Waiting to see how this develops.
