I think economic systems are like car engines. There are different types, with different characteristics, and they are all operated by people.
If the folks operating a certain type keep running that type into the wall, it doesn't mean the engine is ALL bad.
Dictatorships tend to destroy themselves based upon weaknesses in human nature. The economic system goes with it.
