Louisa May Alcott

p — 5/20/2002 8:38:05 AM (archived)

I do think that communism defies MOST incarnations of human nature, but not all...

Took a recent tour of her home in nearby Concord, MA. Apparently her Dad was big on the communal "Fruitlands" disasterous living experiment in rural Harvard, MA. She and her siblings were elated once this exercize in mind numbing labor and lectures dissolved and was abandoned. Back to beautiful downtown Concord. Point being I contend there's tons of historical evidence that there's something in the avant guard intellectual psyche that Marzxism (communism) strongly appeals to.
