<I'm not saying that's correct, I'm suggesting a rational Muslim could start to draw that conclusion.
The "rational" Muslims have been laying mighty low in this conflict. With a few shining exceptions, moderate Muslims in authority (even in the U.S.) have been reluctant to condemn the radical Islamic "jihad" against the U.S. in anything other than vague terms.
For the record, the rank-and-file Muslim Americans around my area that are not in public positions seem quite patriotic. Go figure. The local Sikhs, who are NOT Muslim but have been taking a lot of crap from dimbulbs who only see a beard and turban, have been extremely demonstrative about their support of the U.S.
