Reminds me of two things:
An Afghan woman who had been living in France went back to her country with lots of help to rebuild schools for women, so that they can catch up with the education they lack.
She was perfectly integrated and knowledgeable of both the western and her own cultures and in no way would she abandon Islam. If Islam was so awful, why don't they renounce it?
I'm sure they have as much respect and devotion to their religion as westerners have for theirs.

Also, here, I've noticed how Muslim children (2nd generation, here) speak flemish with each other.
That's a sure sign of integration. The Jews speak either yiddish, hebrew, english or french to each other, but hardly ever flemish.
