Hi Raoul,
I wanted to point out that defeating terrorism isn't so much about weaponry as it is psychology. When there is no sustantial benefit to their depredations they will leave us alone.
When white powder on a restroom sink can cause panic, evacualte a building, and so forth...the incentive for the terrorist is high.
When killing just 3,000 people can paralyze a mighty nation, they are motivated to continue their offensive.
They know they can never beat us with superior numbers or technology, but they also understand that their most devastating weapon is fear, because fear disrupts, distorts, immobilizes.
The American people don't have a clue, most of them, or they would first boycott any media that broadcast a terrorist act. It won't happen, but if our press and tv media agreed to black out any news that involved terrorism it would
deprive the enemy of their most coveted prize...exposure.
This is a new and unorthodox kind of warfare, and all the rules have changed. The sooner we learn that, if indeed we ever do, the sooner we will overcome.
