Re: Conservatives

<There's a part of US conservatism which implies that if you aren't just like them, white, married, church-going, 2-4 kids, van, home-owner that your are lacking, missing something, and you should be working to be exactly like those who are white, married, etc.

There's a part of liberalism in the U.S. which believes that if you do not follow their positions without exception, you are not only mistaken or simply in opposition, but actually evil, and to be defeated "by any means necessary" (an old leftist phrase). Check out any university campus, or see how minorities with conservative viewpoints are treated.

The utter contempt many liberals have for Americans who are "white, married, church-going, 2-4 kids, van, home-owner" is also quite revealing.

In any international conflict of interest, the knee-jerk response, which was trained into our kids in the '60s, and remains in the adults currently running most things, is that America must be in the wrong, and that the values of the most brutal, primitive societies are somehow equal to, if not actually superior, to our own. This leaves those who do not feel this way the job of proving that somehow we are not evil monsters. I personally think it's about time the burden of proof goes the other way.
