Although I would add the clarification that most of this anti-American manure is pumped into kids in colleges and universities. I have had pretty good luck so far with the middle schools, although a couple of creeps are beginning to show up in the high school faculty.
Although the middle schools and such around here do not express specific anti-Americanism, and are in fact fairly patriotic, I have noted a distinct bias in historical education. Included are the Incans, Mayans, Native Americans, Africa, Latin America, ancient Egypt and Rome, and pretty much anything that has no actual relevance to the way the current world is set up. Not included, or severely shortchanged, is historical information on the Revolution and the principles behind it, the World Wars, the Civil War, the threats of Communism and the Nazis, or in fact the entire 19th and 20th centuries in the Western World. Kids can name every Indian tribe in California, but couldn't tell you who Winston Churchill was. There is a study of the colonial era, but it is concentrated on what they wore, how they talked, what they ate, and other interesting irrelevancies.
It's not that surprising that socialism and government ownership of the individual can be made attractive to people who have absolutely no idea of its consequences.

Hell no, he's right.
