The veterans of the Mex/Amer War died in vain.
All that they achieved is being handed back to the Mexicans. How long will it be before California is another Kosovo? When a 90% Mexican population votes to seceed from the U.S. and join with Mexico. And what, if anything, will the American people decide to do about it?
It appears that dark days are coming for this country. I'm afraid that 1860-65 will seem like a picnic compared to what's ahead.
