Okay, and this unholy screwup, from specific changes DEMANDED under force of lawsuit by the Democrats, the NAACP and Florida voters, is the fault of Republicans exactly how??

Anybody with the IQ of a planarian could have predicted this. Did anybody ever wonder why most voting precincts used punch cards in the first place? Easy--they don't break down, they don't need to be booted up, and most normal people have no trouble with them.

Trying to ramp up a voting technology with sufficient inbuilt intelligence and fail-safes to make up for the blithering gasbrains that are trying to cast a simple ballot is not going to be easy. Give it time. And hey, somebody who manufactures complicated voting engines is making a load of taxpayer money off this, so it's an ill wind...

Eventually, they'll find it easier just to keep the voter at home, and automatically cast a ballot based on how it was assumed he would vote--the Democratic wet dream. The vote counters back in the 2000 election proved that it was possible to divine the intent of the voter just by holding the ballot up to a light--I'm certain some automated system that expands on this technique could be developed.
