In a test, third graders managed the old ballots just fine. So did most Florida voters, until an the organized Gore army that all but parachuted into Florida convinced them that somehow they had been "had."
Face it, as long as the precedent has been set for throwing elections to the courts whenever someone is whiny about the outcome, no ballot method is ever going to be "good enough" to keep this kind of thing from happening.
