I am hoping and lobbying for citywide fallout shelters in high target areas first and then building up throughout the entire US.

We may be lucky, as long as we are vigilant, but the next generation's kids will likely deal with so many nuclear powers - and the US as a prime target -that a US detonation becomes nearly inevitable.

For that reason the Department of Homeland Defense must have a fallout shelter program in the works. Anything less is pure slaughter of citizens wholesale - millions of which could be saved by simple construction measures.

Europe has civil shelters - Russia has civil shelters - the US has no civil shelters.
