It is a sad situation if they are innocent.

I think if they are fully innocent, then they must have acted in some way to aggrevate the situation, which very likely was a crime in and of itself.

Some things you just don't joke about.

I think someone once said, "Don't yell 'fire!' in a crowded theater".
