The word "define" means to limit.
Words such as, "evil", "good", "God", "infinite", "beauty", "meaning", "art", "spirit", "existence", etc are difficult to define, but this doesn't mean they can't be understood, discussed, expressed in some art form, or debated.
Now, if the particular lesson has rules and these rules require definition of terms, then if you don't want to fail, you better follow the rules.
A suggestion:
"School is over, get use to it."
