That's better

That was an eloquent statement of your beliefs, SDAI-Tech1, and a pleasure to read. When you're good, you're really good. Thanks...

What's left are merely technical points by comparison.

I didn't say "all blacks on welfare churned out kids for cash." A few did. A majority did not.

Well, here's a little editorial feedback: What you wrote was ambiguously phrased:

Earlier: The treadmill of self-destruction is now limited and finally more enter the job market and think twice about churning out kids for cash.

That can be interpreted as saying that all blacks churn out kids for cash, but that the subset of blacks kicked off the welfare rolls and forced into the job market are the ones now thinking twice about it. A lot can hang on a turn of phrase.

Current administration priorities:

1. Preventing Nuclear holocaust or smallpox outbreak

2. Identifying and neutralizing terrorist cells

3. Encouraging growth in the economy

Not wag the dog - priorities in the post 9-11 world. Life over luxury.

#1: In my opinion, and judging by the polls, the opinion of many other Americans, Bush has failed to make the case that Iraq is an imminent threat. No evidence, just worst-case supposition. Iraq's harboring Al-Qaida operatives? According to that recent satellite photo, there's a full-fledged Al-Qaida training base in Iran. Why isn't Bush proposing we go to war with Iran? Etc., etc., etc...I don't expect an answer, I just wanted to illustrate one of several things that are bothering me about the way Bush is trying to drum up support for his war. There are enough holes in the argument that I scent fish in the air.

#3: Another point I made earlier is that the state of the economy is a national security issue--how will Bush pay for his war?

Ah, well, enough...this thread is piling up on the right margin, just you and me here, always a good sign that it's time to move on. Safe to say, the subject will reappear at the top of the page many more times before Dubya pulls the trigger.
