One can derive an estimate of the scale of the meat recall from this article.
Americans apparently eat in the range of 65BILLION pounds of meat per year.
I am not sure from this article what percentage is sandwhich/deli, but in the scheme of things, 27.4 million is a very small but not insignificant recall.
