Re: The African plains can be harsh

<It doesn't take a lot of brains to catch a berry or a tuber, but trying to catch a caribou, bison or mammoth is another story. The cave drawings in Europe show how much importance these people placed on the hunt.

Visualize a group of Pygmies hunting elephants with what are basically no more than sharp sticks. Or a Zulu hunting lions, again with what amounts to a sharp stick. This not only takes brains, it takes a set of cojones you'd have to carry around in a wheelbarrow. Don't know of many African tribes who lived solely on berries and tubers. Know a LOT of African tribes that hunted routinely, and hunted for large and dangerous animals.

Sorry. Your anthropology doesn't fly too well.
