<You asked why there was no protest against these other operations, and I replied that each situation is unique. Is this a difficult concept?
Apparently it is, or maybe I'm just dense. Unique? HOW?? I see nothing that even remotely makes the places and people we attacked during the Clinton Administration worse than Iraq and Saddam. What is the exact process by which the Great Mobile Mob decides that THIS military action and not THAT military action warrants thousands of people marching all across the nation? Which did NOT happen even after Mogadishu. Not anywhere close.
Was it that the U.N. was involved in some of those attacks? Do the dead civilians and ravaged cities the protestors are screaming about now not count if the U.N. does it? Was it because there was no American interest served in the attacks? Are we that screwed up that war is only okay if we get no benefit or protection from it?
Is it too far-fetched to think that the motivation is actually largely political?
But who really knows? As I've stated before, Americans oppose war on Iraq for a great variety of reasons, some of them very compelling, in my opinion.
How about giving me a few? Specific ones that do not apply to the military actions Clinton took.
