Wow.. Did I call it or what?
Instead of a discussion on the issues, my bro sprinx takes a shot at my ol alma mater...(for those out of the loop, scroll down a bit)... something tells me I would have been better off describing myself as a homeless chump who had stole my laptop from some harvard schmo, than admitting to being a SWTSU grad (believe me, even the kids at Houston Tech laugh at us)
So I "scrolled down a bit" because I've been reading Splinx for a while and found it hard to believe he'd take a gratuitous shot at somebody's school. He's not a snob.
I found this, also posted by you, under a brand new headline. The pertinent excerpt:
You'll have to forgive me, my spelling is terrible (victim of liberal arts degree) and my hands are absolutely shaking right now because i cant stop laughing...
Splinx responded to your unsolicited comment on your liberal arts degree below this post, here. It's short, and all germaine, so I'll reproduce the whole thing:
How is that again? Your spelling is terrible because you're a "victim of liberal arts degree" (sic)?
I doubt you'll find any independent assessment of language arts skills among college graduates that would attribute poor spelling to a liberal arts education, at least for those students who stayed awake in their classes.
So now I'm curious to know: just where did you earn that liberal arts degree?

Splinx responded to a remark you made which (he is not alone in thinking) disparages the value of a liberal arts education. He didn't debate you on the point you wanted him to, but selected another part of your post to respond to. That's within the rules. If you want to keep to the issue, your post must keep to the issue.
Splinx made no further posts to that thread or any other on this board until the one at the top of the thread of which we are currently a part, which makes no mention of your education or the institution you received it in.
You, on the other hand... well, here:
The "Liberal Arts" thing was a joke.. ha ha... get it?.. no? oh well.. moving on... is this thing on??.... testing....
SWTSU.... Thats where i gradiatttteddd frem...
...followed by the little gem with which I started this post. Proud SWTSU graduates would cringe to see you blame the school for your own shortcomings.
As you can see, you took a swing at your own education with no prompting from anyone. You identified your own university as a place that "even the kids at Houston Tech" laugh at (any alumni of Houston Tech want to address that left-handed compliment? ;) ), while seeking to draw attention away from Splinx's post on-topic -- the lack of which you were complaining about.
You are trying to reframe the events to make it look like Splinx insulted your education. You did that yourself.
Your response to his post, below your whining "look what he said [except he didn't] about my school" opening, was incoherent babble.
If you want to argue, then argue. Keep your educational inferiority complex to yourself. People will judge you by your ability to express yourself and by the quality of your ideas.
Let's see some.

Mary Anne
