A journalist (those evil liberals) contends that there was a race snub. Newsmax, those denizens of truth and light add their 2 cents to make a 64,000 dollar question.
You even give the more likely real answer : Okay, to be fair, they needed someone with a recognized name and prepackaged characteristics given the short notice, and they would say Page had neither.
The Dems did the same thing in NJ - get someone with instant recognition who doesn't need a campaign, because there just ain't time for one.
This is hypocracy because...?
