It was already cool in the cargo tanks.
I am pretty sure they don't heat this stuff for shipping.
The fall would have been pretty bad, but if they had ruptured, it would have been detected pretty quickly. At those pressures and that depth, the oil that does leak may just sort of hang out near the floor, while the bacteria have a field day.
Then again, beachfront property in Biscayne region may be at a discount for awhile.
The Ports and Spaniards were very irresponsible. By refusing to put a single port at risk, they instead put all the region at risk.
