Is that Trent will not resign his seat, even if he quits/loses his leadership position.
As I pointed out elsewhere, his true test of character will be in handling his fall from power without destroying all he has worked for.
His resignation would destroy what he claims he stands for.
Contriteness in anyone is difficult. In a Senator it must be much more so.
