The glaring lack of critical coverage given to her comments is the best proof in a long time of who calls the shots in the mainstream media. Yahoo News still has only one single link to a story on this.

The Washington Post titles an article defending her, "Inept but Entitled to Her Say." Her comments are called "ill-worded" and "silly." SILLY???? Lott's "ineptness" resulted in his guts being wound out on a windlass, and the entire Republican Party enthusiastically tarred with the racism brush.

For God's sake, look at how the Post gives her the usual Democrat's pass on a complete screwup. The entire article amounts to "tsk tsk." Could this be any more blatant?

Note also the Seattle Times leaping to her defense, calling her ATTACKERS "silly." For a good time, insert the word "Lott" into their search function, and read the slashing editorials they wrote on that particular subject.

The usual liberal response to all of this is to gaze at you smiling with that particular Look* and say, "I'm sorry. I don't see what you're talking about at all." Argh.

*You know the one. The one the cat gives you when he pretends innocence about eating the canary. No, not the "cat that ate the canary" look. The "cat is actually chewing the canary into bloody gobbets while you're standing there and STILL pretending innocence" look.
