Even the most rabid Zionist has never claimed a desire publicly to rid Palestine of Palestinians.
Palestine would survive quite nicely if they would just deal in good faith with the Israelis.
Unfortunately they are goaded by the Saudis, Iraqis, Egyptians and Syrians who like to keep the arab world focused on Palestine.
It has been a fifty year run - allowing the arabs a common "bad guy."
If Israel truly were gone - POOF! - the wars would break out quickly among Arab nations as the land grabs would commence. Egypt and Jordan would be eyeing Palestine and Yasser Arafat would quickly be discredited and "old-world."
Israel, ideally, should have been set up in one of the British or French holdings.
I really think it was an act of ignorance to plant down in that violent and forsaken wasteland.
Long before Israel arrived on the scene, Palestinians were often bands of thieves and highway robbers on the long trails between pockets of semi-civilized towns who would shoot dead unlucky pilgrims or travelers and "acquire" whatever they had upon their person.
That's not prejudice or bias - simply historic fact.
