Holy smoking cow...

Sometimes I just despair. I really shouldn't let this kind of thing get to me.

When you purchase something at the grocery store, the money is the stores, not yours. You act as if you should get it back.

In the economic system which is the US, the wealthy SHOULD pay more because they are getting more. A bit like sitting at the $100 blackjack tables in Las Vegas. Costs more because you can win more. It takes more of an infrastructure to keep wealthy people going than it takes a person flipping burgers or mowing lawns. And that costs more.

Simple.

You want the wealthy to pay as if they were sitting at the $2 table and still collect as if they were at the $100.

Insanity. This system costs money to run, and it costs the most to run it for the wealthy.

This entire post is UTTER BULLSHIT. There are millionaires aplenty living up in the hills here. They don't use up the highways any faster than the Yugos. They don't breath more air, need a bigger U.S. military to protect them as opposed to the rest of us, have a more expensive fire department, or by any stretch of the imagination use ANY Federal resources any more than the poorest guy in a trailer park.

Name one goddam Federal program that ends up putting more money into services for wealthy people as a class than poor ones. What Federal "infrastructure" supports ONLY the rich?

When I buy something at the grocery store, I get something back. So does a poor person. And hey, guess what. I don't have to pay twenty times as much for the same box of cereal as a poor guy does, although you probably think I should.

Sure, there are real subsidies to the wealthy. Most farm supports end up in the pockets of wealthy farmers, and I don't approve of those either. But to claim that the government spends more on infrastructure for the wealthy is just nuts. And even if they did, it would have to be one hell of a lot of extra to justify the fact that the wealthy pay HUNDREDS to THOUSANDS of times the taxes the poor do. Geez, at least they should get their own limo-only lane on the freeway.
