Hell, until recently most of the laws are designed to protect property, not lives, not people.
The "system", the infrastructure, works to the benefit of the wealthy much more than the poorer. And "capitalism" favors "capital", not folks.
So, people who want to live constructive lives will be damned happy they live in a system which allows them such a standard of living, such a standard of safety, and forget that the percentage of taxes are higher.
For those dumb enough to pay taxes.
Would you rather have 100% of $10 an hour, or 50% of $200 an hour.
