Name one example from history where appeasement has brought peace
for any length of time. Appeasement can buy you a few years at most, but it fails in the end. If you can't, then it's rather foolish to expect it to do so now.
Israel is powerful in a limited region. It doesn't have any form of global reach. What we're trying to do is to not only target the terrorists but also the nations that support them. This has never been done before, not by us and certainly not by any other nation such as Israel. Taking out the Taliban was the first step. Taking out Saddam will be another. How many more steps will be required depends on how long it takes the nations who support terrorism to get the message.
