Re: State of the Union

Gary beat me to some of what's wrong with your picture. Here's more, in the form of a Q&A...

Q: What do "Lexus's, Rolex's, Bimmers', plasma TV's" have in common?
A: They're all foreign luxury goods.

Q: Who purchases foreign luxury goods?
A: The wealthy, by definition.

Q: What's wrong with this statement: "everybody's unemployed"?
A: Not everybody's unemployed (only about 2 million of the [formerly] working people). The wealthy may be a few percentage points down on their net worth these days, but they're not "unemployed" and they're hardly hurting. They're still buying foreign luxury goods.

Q: What do you get when you put those points together?
A: Several million people are unemployed, the economy sucks for the surviving working people, but the wealthy are barely inconvenienced.

Q: What does Preznit Dubya mean when he says "the economy's fundamentals are looking great!"?
A: Several million people are unemployed, the economy sucks for the surviving working people, but the wealthy are barely inconvenienced.

Clear now?
