Thanks Larry for posting Ms. Burchill's opinion.
I rather enjoyed it.
And she made a few points rather excessively, but in the end she admits that free speech is just that, and we all have our OPINIONS.
Bless diversity!
She believes that we will free the oppressed Iraqis. What she doesn't say, is the possibility of blowback from our doing it. After all, shouldn't the Muslims be liberating their own Muslims?
Why should we be stepping into a cesspool of American hatred in the Middle East and risk everything?
It's not about WMD, oh no.
There are plenty of operatives in the middle of the weapons deals floating around to every dictator, terrorist group and "enemy' of the United States to be a bigger "threat" to us..
We won't be able to stop Hussein and go in and think we can secure THEIR oil.
No, that's not going to go over very well. It IS a grab for their oil.
So let's go in and just steal it.
After all, wars have been fought over the ages for grabbing someone else's loot.
Why SHOULDN"T we do it?
BTW, where are all those documentaries about how GOOD life has been Afganistan since we liberated them from the Taliban? Where are the interviews with the soldiers who are building schools and feeding the starving?
Where?
