People's Republic of Fred
I remember a political cartoon from the early 1990s that showed how the trend to break up countries would look like if taken to the extreme. It showed two guys facing each other from their own castles. Over one castle flew a banner reading "People's Republic of Fred" and there was something similar over the other one. It was even worse than those piss ant New England states. ;}
