This is just your opinion. Many believe that we are morally superior, no pretense, we are as we were vs. the NAZIs. Would we have been pre-emptive if we had known in say 1932 what was ahead.

The world does not need another religious crusade

Seems to me it's the Muslims that are carrying out a religious crusade.

And the Islamic world is not looking to the US to solve its many problems and hatreds.

Since they seem to be doing nothing to solve their own problems and their problems are a threat to civilization, why shouldn't we attempt to solve them?
