..you know that. A gas mask and a NBC suit will carry troops right to Saddam's door.
No, Saddam is patient. He has employed nuclear scientists and chemical warfare scientists to work steadily on WMD. The USA would always strike him if he used chemical weapons and his vision would turn to dust.
But nuclear weapons...yes!
Look at how we deal with India and Pakistan with new diplomacy! How we give credence to General Musharraf's government! Why? Because they are NUCLEAR powers now.
Saddam sees this. He tries to hire the scientists who worked in Pakistan! He knows that once he can detonate a nuke in the desert publicly and declare he has an arsenal of nukes to blow up Israel or anyone who attacks him - he will ENSURE he and his sons are never removed from power - but are safe to terrorize non-nuclear Muslim nations such as Iran, etc.
REVENGE!
It's a great motive.
The bitter hatred for Iran has not faded - that's why Iran is using Russia to build reactors. They want nukes too! If Saddam gets them first they know they will be one of his first targets.
It's a nuclear foot-race down there. Saudi Arabia recently declared interest in PURCHASING outright nuclear weapons from other countries, or developing them if non are available so they can defend themselves from Saddam or any other local threats.
You may dispute the analysis of intelligence agencies which dig up the data, but you have yet to make a case that such nuclear work is not occurring or if it is - why it doesn't warrant Saddam's removal.
Keep up the rhetoric though, your persistance is endearing.
