I wonder if the night vision goggles that the Iraqis were not supposed to have, were discovered by US forces using night vision goggles? Or how many Iraqi tanks have been destroyed by US anti-tank weapons? How many weapons used by the Taliban in fighting Russia in Afghanistan were supplied by the US?
Not only does the US want to fight a vastly underequipped enemy, they want UN inspectors to do their best to ensure here are no nasty weapons in the enemy arsenal, they want the enemy not to have access to a few of the same tools they themselves are using, and they want them to "fight fair".
Please don't construe this as support for Iraq, but don't be surprised that a cornered force, faced with superior weaponry and no significant lines of supply from a large nation, will use any and all means of fighting back, including "illegal" or "dirty" ones.
