No. Not really...

<Some people have said that blowing this information to the public is all Part Of The Plan. Doesn't sound like much of a plan to me under the circumstances...

It does if it IS pure BS.

Think for a second. What is really wanted IS movement of forces positions.

Another juicy bit of info: the media keeps repeating how the Iraqis set oil fires to keep our planes from hitting targets. That's not true since our targets are GPS guided most of the time. The Iraqis set the oil fires to give cover solely from our observation satellites and to a lesser degree drones.

They want to cover troop and personnel movement - or even movement by Saddam or his officers. They know we have satellites that can spot the lice in Saddam's beret. This is why they set oil fires in the city and why they did so much during the sandstorms. The sandstorms provided aerial cover for movement and repositioning of tanks, weapons and likely top honchos within the city. Some of Saddam's family may have used that time to flee the city entirely. Tactically, the odds that Saddam and his sons are in the same place are nil. Command and control are better served by the three of them in different locations using their Chinese fiber optic network. They probably also move around through the underground network for fear of betrayal, never sleeping in the same place twice.

We, on the other hand, want to see as much movement as possible, because it is during movement that these forces are the most vulnerable.

If the military releases this info you can bet it is part of our disinformation boys plan to try and prompt Iraqi repositioning.

It's basically like musical chairs - when they move from place to place they are able to be taken out. I think it is working.

Give our guys some credit - they are not that dense.

;-)

Reporters...well that's another story.
