You know, the thought of SARS targeting race crossed my mind, but I dismissed that thought. I have never heard of a virus being able to attack a race.

But what if it was genetically engineered? If would have to go after something genetically specific about that race. Is that even possible. The only thing odd I know about Orientals is that they lack an enzyme to digest alcohol. They can drink alcohol, but they pay the price later. I have a similar problem with alcohol, possibly do to me having an Native American (who’s direct ancestors were oriental) ancestor. Anyway, I don’t see how a reparatory virus could go after one race.

But as far as I know, only Orientals have been infected. Time will tell if this is the case.

The timing of this virus is rather odd.

Bio-weapons don’t necessarily have to kill to cause problems. Disrupting society might be effective. Missed work, increased health care, stuff like that strain a countries economy. Just spreading the common cold around would cause millions of people to miss work during a season. It would be easy to spread common colds around.

Last year we had a lot of colds going around. We also had the West Nile Virus show up.
