Their blacklisting by the state department

as for helms, I currently have one link I don't like too much... but its

cntrl-f for Helms

I researched these guys before, back when I was evaluating claims of Iraq+Terrorism (the MKO are sometimes floated in this role). I was a little aghast that pro-war pundits were dragging this band of bastards up, as we have such obvious and easily identified ties to 'em.

To point to in-general conservative backing, try this quote from a better source:

"A statement signed by 220 members of the 435-seat House of Representatives Sept. 16 demanded a review of the MKO's terrorist status, and called Clinton's détente moves "wrong-headed." The MKO, it said, was the "legitimate opposition to the Iranian regime.""

some information about the friendly relations between Bush Admin and MKO:

WASHINGTON -- The announcement of the cease-fire negotiated between the United States and the Iraqi-based People's Mujahedeen guerillas is a shocking development that is counter to the U.S. strategy in both the Iraq war and the war on terror.

and some more data about their supporters... Namely ascroft....
ashcroft and others like 'em too!

and yes, there is some domcrats involved in this, but Toricelli is about the only one I have found so far.

Now Scottyboy, what was that you were saying about connections and paranoia? You have some hard fact or good sources to counter mine? Or did you just assumed I was uninformed. Like you soom to be since you claim no connection...
