Not Exactly a Reasonable Question Scott

My reply:
"Hey, what's wrong if we work with murderers if they will stop being murderers?
Your expectations of a class/group of people that are devoted to a cause is unreasonable.
In those middle eastern countries, there are clans of people with ancient hatreds. Whoever gets the biggest army with most weapons WINS. And obviously, one group HAS TO BE more callous, more murderous. They kill and steal the feed and protect their own clan.
We're just going in and stirring up the pot, bombing out their existences and transferring weapons.
We have let so many of the wicked Taliban go, that they are re-grouping and becoming a menace again in Afganistan.
A leopard doesn't change it's spots Scott.

Our foreign policy is terrible, especially the way we prop up the bad guys anywhere, anyplace, anytime to take out that countries (pick one), dictators, communists, socialists, anyone who's sitting tightly on valuable resources that we WANT.
And we'll get our way, you know. No matter what the cost.

Two decades ago Iran was our sworn "enemy", now it is Iraq. We picked these guys because be will a thorn in the side of Iran again. However, this terrorist group will try and takeover any other group that gets in its way.

For example. You have two neighbours and you don't like Bob at all. He's worse than Bill.
So you give Bill the money and weapons to take out Bob. He grinds away at it but is not successful. A week later Bill gets on your nerves and Bob promises you something, so you give HIM money and weapons to get Bill.
Before you know it, both are armed to the teeth, both hate you more and YOU are now the enemy.
Get it?
