Commentary
There is something very, very wrong here. Mr. Bush and his staff said there were literally hundreds tons of these weapons. We told the entire world this. Apparently the claim simply wasn't true.
Did Saddam Hussein, that petty little despot, actually tell the truth for once in his life when he denied having such weapons any longer? And did we make our erroneous claims based upon appallingly bad intelligence, or did we know we weren't telling the truth?
We demeaned the U.N. and the world of nations demanding real proof of Iraqi WMD's before they would vote to support the war. It now appears that their hesistance to believe our case was warranted.
