The US needs to be trusted. Otherwise, how can countries fight against international terrorism?
France had warned the US in advance about Moussaoui.
Europe has a far better knowledge of the Arab world than the US and many more translators and interpreters, too.
Statements like this one don't help build the trust that's needed.
And trust isn't something that's merely declared but has to be prooven and shown.
