Current Events » in reply to Iraqi mobile labs nothing to do with germ warfare, report finds

This smells like horse manure.

It sounds to me like the opinions of a very few scientists. And what the hell are they doing "examining" and "analyzing" these things?

It should be a simple matter for someone to get a hold of someone at Marconi (now AMS) and find out the exact specs, appearance, and other details of the trailers sold to Iraq by the British. This would settle the matter once and for all. Why has no one done this? I cannot find the specs of the original AMETS system online, and I'm not going to bust my butt calling Italy on the phone. They pay reporters to do this. Theoretically.

But I do know from my own superficial digging that no similar system that I have found looks anything like the trailers in Iraq, including the current BMETS built by AMS. Another system apparently by a different compay can be seen here. A British training document on this type of equipment can be found here. Again, note the size of the inflation system.

The suspected trailers were identified publicly before the war as biowarfare systems (two slides below are from Powell's presentation at the U.N.)

Why didn't Iraq at that point haul them out for the U.N. and inflate a goddam balloon with them? Why were they hidden?

Are these trailers for germ warfare or for blowing up balloons? Somebody out there already has the answers, or should know where to find them. The people trying to squelch the identification of these trailers as biological warfare production units are hoping that nobody will ask questions, or dig any further, and assume if they say it often enough people will accept it.
