Ohh my, looks like I can post again!
EP, you said:
1) Columbia and/or its crew could have been saved, and I demand an apology - Mr Vancil should not expect to post here again unhindered until I recieve it
You are 100% correct on this. Anyone doubting this is just plain blind to reality.
2) Not very many people care about sending men to Mars, and they certainly don't care enough to pay for it...
You are right, but what fascinates me is the adults willing to particpate in the fake Utah/Arctic Mars Station thing. This is upsetting because if you put this "habitat module or whatever it is, in some national amusement park and charges a buck to see it, I'll bet not many would be interested. After all, Disney world and MGM Studios at least spend the buck to make their spacesuits look real! Duck tape? Garbage can lids? Canvas space suits? It is laughable to the extreme.
Also, Chris Vancil out and out lied about Mars Society involvement with Beagle 2. Read this to prove it to yourself:
http://www.space.com/searchforlife/mars_microscope_000817.html
While the microscope is on the Beagle 2's manifest of science instruments, the Mars Society's claim of sponsorship of the device is incorrect, said a top official of the Beagle 2 project.
"This deal certainly does not exist," said Colin Pillinger, lead scientist for the Beagle 2 effort, and professor of planetary sciences research at the Open University, located in Milton Keynes, the United Kingdom.
Nothing but lies and misinformation
Says it all...
