The original proposals for battling "global warming," like the Kyoto Accords, would have had a crushing effect on Western economies. A lot of us did not believe there was sufficient evidence to warrant such drastic steps.
Anybody remember the mantra of the environmentalists and the Left?
It went along these lines:
"It doesn't matter that there isn't conclusive evidence right now. The consequences of being wrong on this are so bad, that we have to take this drastic action despite the lack of compelling evidence!"
What is a real riot is that these are the same people who were screaming for absolute and positive proof that Saddam was a threat before we did anything in Iraq. Again, their skepticism seems to vary depending on whose ox is being gored.
