The C14 disintegrated during the millions of years it took the SNCs to travel from Mars to the Earth.

Try growing anytihng in pure C14. Maybe something will survive, but it can not be too advanced, as it will have to have a short DNA chain. The situation probably holds for all other elements/isotopes.
